These Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern your use of Pathlight AI.
By creating an account and using Pathlight AI ("Pathlight," "the App," "we," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Pathlight AI provides safety-informed route recommendations, community incident reports, and smart check-in tools for runners, walkers, and hikers. Features include AI-generated safety scores, crowdsourced location reports, weather and lighting context, and emergency contact check-in.
PATHLIGHT DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR SAFETY. Safety scores, route recommendations, and AI-generated summaries are estimates based on available data and do not reflect real-time conditions. The App is not a substitute for your own judgment.
Always trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, leave the area immediately and call 911. In an emergency, call emergency services — do not rely on this App.
Pathlight is not responsible for any injury, harm, or loss arising from reliance on information provided by the App.
Pathlight is not an emergency response service. The check-in feature notifies your designated personal contacts only — it does not contact law enforcement, medical services, or any emergency responders. Always call 911 in an emergency.
Pathlight requests access to your device location to provide relevant route recommendations and safety scores near you. You may choose to grant location access always, only while using the App, or never (in which case you may enter your location manually).
Your precise location is never shared publicly. It is used only to generate personalized route information and, if you activate Check-In, to notify your designated emergency contacts if you do not return in time.
We do not sell your location data to third parties.
Users may submit reports about trail conditions, lighting, and safety observations. These reports are crowdsourced and unverified. Pathlight does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any community report. Do not make safety decisions based solely on community reports.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You may not use another person's account without permission.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Pathlight. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
Pathlight has zero tolerance for objectionable, abusive, or harmful content. By using the community features of the App, you agree to the following:
Enforcement: Posts that violate these standards will be removed within 24 hours of being reported. Users who post objectionable content will have their accounts banned.
Reporting: You may report any post using the report button (⋯ menu on any post). Reports go directly to Pathlight staff for review.
Blocking: You may block any user. Blocked users cannot see your posts, interact with you, or find you in the app. You can manage blocked users from your profile.
Post removal: You may delete your own posts at any time using the ⋯ menu on your post.
Contact: To report inappropriate activity, email pathlightsupport@gmail.com. We will respond within 24 hours.
Outdoor physical activity carries inherent risks including but not limited to uneven terrain, weather, wildlife, and other people. By using Pathlight, you acknowledge and accept these risks. You are solely responsible for your safety decisions before, during, and after any activity.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pathlight AI and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App, including damages arising from reliance on safety scores, route recommendations, community reports, or check-in functionality.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the Profile screen in the app or by contacting us directly. Upon deletion, your reports will be anonymized and your location history will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Continued use of Pathlight after changes are posted or communicated constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
